What to Watch For: Combination of animation with a live-action cast that includes Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost, and Ken Jong.

Word on the Street: The film is directed by Tim Story, known for the films Ride Along (2014), Ride Along 2 (2016), and Think Like a Man (2012).

My Take: We can always use a little Tom and Jerry foolishness in our lives.

 

Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry  (2021) R

What to Watch For: The film uses home videos along with concert footage to give Billie Eilish fans an inside look at her life.

Word on the Street: Emmy-award-winning filmmaker R. J. Cutler directs the film.

My Take: I love her music, so I can’t wait to see this film.

 

Cherry (2021) R

What to Watch For: The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, known for their work on the Marvel Universe films.

Word on the Street: Holland, of course, worked on the Russo brother’s Marvel films as Spider-Man.

My Take: It is going to be interesting to see what Tom Holland can do outside the Marvel brand.

Crisis  (2021) R

What to Watch For: The film is written and directed by Nicholas Jarecki, who directed the Richard Gere 2012 film Arbitrage.

Word on the Street: The outstanding cast includes Greg Kinnear, Michelle Rodriguez, and Lily-Rose Depp.

My Take: Mia Kirshner is in the film. Kirshner plays Amanda Grayson on the TV series Star Trek: Discovery.

Word on the Street: The film currently has a rating of 91% on the Rotten Tomatoes website.

My Take: I always love a horror film.
