What to Watch For: The film is a sure Oscar Best Picture nominee and just won Best Motion Picture Drama at the Golden Globes.

Word on the Street: The director of 1917, Sam Mendes, also won Best Director of a Motion Picture at the Golden Globes, winning over Martin Scorsese (The Irishman), Quentin Tarantino (Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood), Bong Joon Ho (Parasite), and Todd Phillips (Joker).

My Take: The almost 2-hour movie was shot and edited like it was all a single take.

The film opens nationwide on Friday.

Word on the Street: The director of the movie, Miguel Arteta, is known for is work on Chuck & Buck (2000) The Good Girl (2002) and Beatriz at Dinner (2017).

My Take: Tiffany Haddish has been working so much of the past two years, her agent must be thrilled and wealthy.

Still, he picks Alabama to set up a law firm specializing in advocating for death row inmates he feels to have been wrongly condemned. What to Watch For: The African-American Film Critics Association awarded Jamie Foxx the Best Supporting Actor award.

Word on the Street: Bree Larson, who plays Eva, a woman who is the first employee at Bryan’s new law firm, worked with co-writer/director Destin Daniel Cretton on the award-winning 2013 film Short Term 12.

My Take: I feel that we will be talking about Michael B. Jordan’s career for a long time.

Word on the Street: The cast includes Vincent Cassel, Jessica Henwick, John Gallagher Jr., Mamoudou Athie, and T.J. Miller.

My Take: It is always interesting to see what Kristen Stewart does on the silver screen.

My Take: It will be interesting to see what new light can be shed on a horrific event.
