In the aftermath of the American Civil War, the movie explores the lives of the March sisters, Jo (Saoirse Ronan), Meg (Emma Watson), Amy (Florence Pugh) and Beth (Eliza Scanlen), all under the watchful eye of their beloved mother, Marmee (Laura Dern). Little Women Website

What to Watch For: The film is written and directed by two-time Oscar-nominated Greta Gerwig.

Word on the Street: Critics are raving about the performances from the cast, especially Saoirse Ronan, as the headstrong Jo and Florence Pugh as the self-centered Amy.

My Take: I can’t wait to see what Gerwig has done with this time-honored classic.

The film opens nationwide on Christmas Day.

What to Watch For: This is the directorial debut of animator Nick Bruno, who worked on Ice Age: Collision Course, The Peanuts Movie, and Rio 2.

Word on the Street: The voice cast includes Karen Gillan, Rachel Brosnahan, Rashida Jones, Reba McEntire, and DJ Khaled.

My Take: This is the first animated feature for Will Smith since he did Shark Tale back in 2004.

The film opens nationwide on Christmas Day.

Howard (Adam Sandler) thinks his life is about to change due to the delivery of an uncut gem that could be worth millions. Howard is all about taking chances, and he starts a series of high-stakes bets that he could win big on or also lose everything. Uncut Gems Website

What to Watch For: Adam Sandler is getting great reviews for his performance, winning Best Actor from the National Board of Review.

Word on the Street: Idina Menzel plays Dinah, Howard’s hard edge ex-wife, a role very different from her role as Elsa in the Frozen films.

My Take: I am interested to see former NBA all-star Kevin Garnett in the film where he plays himself.
