What to Watch For: The film won the Audience Award at the 2017 Aspen Filmfest.

Word on the Street: The Upside is based on the award-winning 2011 French film The Intouchables.

My Take: The strong supporting cast includes Nicole Kidman, Julianna Margulies, and Tate Donovan.

The film opens nationwide on Friday.

A Dog’s Way Home (2019) PG

What to Watch For: The dog that plays the adult version of Bella was a rescue dog that was found in a junkyard in Tennessee.

Word on the Street: The film is based on the best selling book of the same name by W. Bruce Cameron.

My Take: The film is directed by Charles Martin Smith, who also directed Air Bud (2097) and Dolphin Tale (2011). Smith is also an actor known for his roles in American Graffiti (1973) and The Untouchables (1987).

The film opens nationwide on Friday.

Replicas (2018) PG-13

What to Watch For: The screenplay was written by Chad St. John, who also wrote the 2016 film London Has Fallen.

Word on the Street: The film comes from the production company of Keanu Reeves and Stephen Hamel.

My Take: The film stars one of my favorite actresses Alice Eve.

The film opens nationwide on Thursday.
