Word on the Street: Voice cast includes Taraji P. Henson, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, Alan Tudyk, Alfred Molina, and Ed O’Neil.

My Take: I loved the first film, so I am looking forward to this one.

What to Watch For: Sylvester Stallone co-wrote the screenplay with Juel Taylor.

Word on the Street: This is the eight installment in the Rocky series.

My Take: I think Michael B. Jordan is one of the best young actors out there.

What to Watch For: The cast was taught archery by YouTube sensation Lars Andersen of Denmark.

Word on the Street: Gaite Jansen, Lucy Fry, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw were considered for the role of Marian before Eve Hewson was cast.

My Take: I have always loved the Robin Hood movies.

At Eternity’s Gate (2018) PG-13

A look at the life of painter Vincent van Gogh (Willem Dafoe) during the time he lived in Arles and Auvers-sur-Oise, France. At Eternity’s Gate Website

What to Watch For: The title of the film is based on the painting “Sorrowing Old Man (At Eternity’s Gate)’ which was doen a couple of months before van Gogh’s suicide.

Word on the Street: The film was shot on location where van Gogh lived in France.

My Take: Julian Schnabel, the director of the film, is also a painter known for his ‘plate paintings.

What to Watch For: The film won Best Documentary in Music and Dance at the 2018 Master of Art Film Festival.

Word on the Street: The documentary is told in Maria Callas’s own words.

My Take: I can’t wait to see this film.

Chef Flynn (2018)

Documentary about Flynn McGarry who started cooking gourmet meals at age 9, by 11 had a supper club in his home and age 19 has his own restaurant in NYC. Chef Flynn Website

What to Watch For: Flynn’s mother is a filmmaker, and so there is a lot of footage of Flynn when he was younger.

Word on the Street: Flynn has been on talk shows like the Today Show and Larry King Live, and has been featured on the cover of the New York Times Magazine.

My Take: Director Cameron Yates also directed a well recieved documentary in 2010 called The Canal Street Madam.
