When I was a Cub Scout, one of my favorite things to participate in was the soapbox derby. You’d have to construct a car out of this slab of wood and would put a penny or a quarter underneath it for some reason? I don’t know why I remember that, but it was of some importance to the race. Well, turn my memory into real life fun at the Cool Dads Rock 6th Annual Soapbox Derby. Teams will bring in their life-sized soapbox racers to Historic Old Fourth Ward Park, and see which “cool” dad wins. It’s a free event with music, entertainment and food too! Check out their site to enter the race or to get more info!
