This episode of “Legends of Tomorrow” is the conclusion to the 2-night, 4-part event “Crisis on Earth X”. Part one began on “Supergirl”, with the wedding of Barry & Iris with their super friends and other loved ones in attendance. Just as they were about to exchange vows the ceremony was attacked by a cadre of Nazis and 3 super powered beings who are doppelgangers of Oliver (The Fuhrer), Kara (Overgirl) and Tommy Merlyn, Oliver’s best friend on our earth who died several seasons ago. Our heroes had intermittent battles with the Nazis, winning some, and losing some.

In part 2 on “Arrow”, we learn that the Nazi invasion came from Earth X, the 53rd in the multiverse where the Allies lost World War II and the Nazis took over the planet. The Doppelganger of Oliver is the Fuhrer and is dating Overgirl who’s a general in their army. Also present is the long thought dead Eobard Thawne (Reverse Flash) who still has the appearance of Harrison Wells. The entire purpose of the invasion is to capture Kara and harvest her heart to replace the failing heart of her Doppelganger. The combined team of heroes were defeated and transported to Earth X and housed in a concentration camp.

Part 3 begins in “Flash” with our heroes about to be executed by that world’s Quentin Lance father to Sara of “Legends” and of Laurel, the original Black Canary in “Arrow”. Before he can give the command to “fire”, Leonard “Leo” Snart, aka Captain Cold, shows up and frees our heroes including his lover, a super powered man who goes by the code-name of “Ray”. The team makes their escape to the underground resistance which happens to be their version of S.T.A.R. Labs. Our heroes have to make their way back to Earth 1 through a heavily guarded interdimensional portal. After a battle, that includes the introduction of hero Red Tornado, our heroes make their way to the portal. As they’re attempting to escape, Professor Stein is shot multiple times and only through his fusion with Jefferson as Firestorm is his life saved.

Our show begins in S.T.A.R. Labs, which has been overrun by Nazis. Kara is about to have her heart surgically removed by Eobard in order to save Overgirl’s life. He attempts to cut in to her skin but something is preventing it which we soon discover is Ray Palmer in his miniaturized form of The Atom. Ray grows to full size, knocks out Eobard and, along with Felicity, helps Kara escape. Elsewhere in S.T.A.R.  Nate(Steel) frees the heroes being held in captivity while Amaya and Zari help clear the place of Nazis.

The team from Earth X return just in time to take on the Terminator like Metallo that takes a combined effort to defeat him. Ray & Felicity are getting Kara to the Legend’s wave rider when The Fuhrer shows up and short circuits Ray’s suit with an arrow. Felicity confronts the Fuhrer who is impressed with her speech but is still about to put an arrow through her chest when the REAL Oliver shows up with a weakened Overgirl as his hostage. Oliver threatens to kill Overgirl if the Fuhrer does anything to Felicity so the two are at an impasse until Eobard whizzes through taking his compatriots to safety on their own Nazi wave rider.

On the Legend’s wave rider Firestorm breaks down to his components with Stein in critical condition after being shot and  Jefferson, whose physiology is

linked to Professor Stein’s,  also ailing. In fact, the only thing keeping Stein alive is his connection to Jefferson. Elsewhere on the ship, Rory comes face to face with the Earth X Captain Cold who used to be his partner on this earth.  Curtis (Mr. Terrific) is enlisted to help track the Nazi wave rider and after looking at some data realises that if Overgirl isn’t cured she’s going to go supernova taking the earth with her.

Back in the med-bay, Professor Stein knows that no matter what he’s going to die and that if he’s still connected to Jefferson, he’ll die too. Stein convinces Jefferson to give him a serum that was previously developed to disconnect their physiologies when Stein was going to retire to be with his family allowing Jefferson to contain the power of Firestorm within himself. The problem with that is, once Stein & Jefferson are no longer linked “Grey” will die. Jefferson, after some heart felt goodbyes, realises the logic of Stein’s request and gives him the formula and he dies.

Jefferson is left with the unenviable task of breaking the news to Stein’s family he’s no longer with us. On the wave rider, The Fuhrer reaches out to our heroes and offers truce terms: he and his cohorts will go peacefully back to Earth X IF and only if Kara comes with them. Of course that offer is rejected and the teams prepare for a final showdown.

In Central City the Nazis start killing people indiscriminately until our combined teams arrive. An all out melee ensues – and it is GLORIOUS. Felicity stayed behind on the wave rider with Cisco & Wells and they take off after the Nazi wave rider. Unfortunately they can’t cause any damage because of the Nazi ship shields. Kara draws Overgirl away from her wave rider while Zari, Amya & Killer Frost make their way on board and – with a technical assist from Felicity – disable the Nazi ship’s shields. Cisco vibes over to get his teammates to safety just as Wells blows it to smithereens.

In the sky above Kara & Overgirl battle but are evenly matched. On the ground Barry finally beats Eobard one on one, but he can’t bring himself to kill him and lets him escape to be a threat for another day. In the middle of her fight with Kara, Overgirl reaches critical mass and is about to explode.  In order to save the planet, Kara flies her double up, up AND away so she can detonate helplessly in space. This doesn’t go unnoticed on the ground. The Fuhrer, seeing the love of his life explode, is distraught but not for too long; Oliver puts an arrow in his chest thus ending the Nazi threat.

After the dust settles  Leo Snart decides to stay behind on Earth One as his lover Ray goes back to Earth X. The remaining teams then attend the funeral of Professor Stein and have to deal with the permanent loss of one of their own. The teams then go their separate ways -Kara & her sister go back to their reality while the Legends take off back in the time stream.

Our show ends with Barry & Iris telling Oliver and Felicity that when they NEXT decide to get married it’ll be a small affair so it won’t be interrupted by Nazis or talking gorillas. Felicity has the idea to get John Diggle to conclude the ceremony since he was previously ordained when his brother wanted to get hitched. Barry zooms off to get Diggle and bring him back. Realizing what’s about to happen Felicity decides that she does want to be married to Oliver and asks him even though she told him no. So now we have a double ceremony with Barry marrying Iris and Felicity marrying Oliver.
