Watch to Watch For:   The cast includes Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John C. Reilly and John Goodman.

Word on the Street:  The is the second film in Legendary’s MonsterVerse series and takes place before the 2014 film Godzilla.  The two films are connected in the storyline.

My Take:  I am very excited to see this film.

The film opens nationwide on Friday.

Harriet (Shirley MacLaine) is a retired businesswoman who needs to control everything and everyone in her life. She decides to hire a young journalist, Anne (Amanda Seyfried) to write her obituary. What to Watch For:  The director of the film, Mark Pellington, also directed Arlington Road (1999) and The Mothman Prophecies (2002).

Word on the Street:  The Oscar-winning MacLaine has seen a resurgence in her career doing such tv shows as Downton Abbey and Glee.

My Take:  I have loved Amanda Seyfried since her appearance as Lilly Kane on Veronica Mars.

What to Watch For:  The film was nominated for both a Golden Globe and a Academy Award as Best Animated Feature Film.

Word on the Street:  This stop-motion animated film is at 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes with 62 critic reviews.

My Take:  I love stop-motion animation.

The Ottoman Lieutenant  (2016)

A strong-willed woman, Lillie (Hera Hilmar) meets an American doctor (Josh Hartnett) who runs a remote hospital within the Ottoman Empire. What to Watch For:  the film was shot in the Czech Republic and Turkey.

Word on the Street:  Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley plays a fellow doctor in the film.

My Take:  I always enjoy Kingsley’s performances.

The film opens at Atlanta area theatres on Friday.
