The third annual Wildwood Revival will kick off on Friday, August 26 and runs through Sunday, August 28. Just a hop, skip and a jump outside of the hustle and bustle of Atlanta; you’ll be able to find this carefully crafted boutique musical festival that is truly a unique cultural experience. Set in an intimate environment, and when I say intimate I mean that the cap for attendance tops out at 1,500 people, all in order to maintain that rustic, holistic vibe.
Located on the outskirts of Athens, on a historic 30-acre farm the Wildwood Revival will bring together everything from a little bit country, with headliners The Lone Bellow to some down-to-earth Americana/blues jive of Julie Rhodes to some solid rock n’ roll with Houndmouth and everything in between. So you get a little bit honky-tonk with the soul of a juke joint and who doesn’t love banjos? Envision being able to attend a truly laid back concert by listening to some amazing music in an open-air barn, to sitting by a bonfire and watch the stars shoot across the sky while you camp on the premise and then wake up in the mornings to attend yoga at this family-friendly event. This sounds like paradise to me.
For me, what I think that makes Wildwood Revival so intriguing is that it takes the wild spirit of nature and meshes the love of music and then blends it together with the true artistry of an authentic Artisan’s market, that features everything from 1800’s era tintype photography to handmade crafts and much more. So who doesn’t want to get out of the city and be in the country for a long weekend – with some good friends and great music while being surrounded by nature. Head over to Wildwood Revival for more details. Hope to see you there.
