The Atlanta Film Fesitval has made three big additions to their Sunday, April 10th lineup. Two Creative Conference educational events have been added, including a Master Class with actor/director William H. Macy (“Fargo”). Also, a special presentation of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” and Q&A with writer/director James Gunn and actor Michael Rooker has been added to the lineup and will take place on the festival’s Encore Day.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy – The Ultimate Encore + Conversation with James Gunn and Michael Rooker will take place at 4 PM at the Plaza Theatre on Sunday, April 10th. A screening of the original “Guardians of the Galaxy” will be immediately followed by the Q&A. Gunn wrote and directed Marvel’s 2014 blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy” and the forthcoming sequel, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”. His longtime collaborator Michael Rooker (AMC’s “The Walking Dead”) stars in the film with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel (voice) and Bradley Cooper (voice) as the blue-skinned bandit ‘Yondu’. In partnership with Pinewood Atlanta Studios, ATLFF 2016 will present a Master Class with actor/director William H. Macy at 10 AM at 7 Stages Theatre, followed by a Production Panel with four established filmmakers from various parts of the industry at 11 AM. The Production Panel is expected to be made up of Judianna Markovsky, Costume Designer (“The Hunger Games”), Camille Friend, Hair Designer (“Miles Ahead”), Simon Hatt, Associate Producer (Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy”), and Will Greenfield, Producer/Production Manager (“Loving”). Sony’s “Passengers,” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, wrapped up production at Pinewood Atlanta in early 2016; making way for the production of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” which is currently underway.
