Tris Prior’s (Shailene Woodley) life is crashing down around her. Now, the factions are at war, and Tris will need all her Divergent skills to survive. “Insurgent” Webpage

What to Watch For: The film was primarily shot in Atlanta, GA.

Word on the Street: Looking at the trailers, fans of the book series are worried that this film will stray too far from the book.

My Take: I enjoyed the first film and feel it was a good adaptation of the book. Woodley has quickly become one of my favorite young actresses.

The Gunman

“The Gunman” (2015)

Jim “Twink” Terrier (Sean Penn) is one of the best hit men out there. Twink, though, is in love and wants out of the game, but the organization for which Twink works won’t let him leave. They send Felix (Javier Bardem) to hunt down Twink. “The Gunman” Website

What to Watch For: Fan favorite, Idris Elba, plays a ruthless hit-man sent to hunt Twink.

Word on the Street: The question is, after a number of supporting roles, can Sean Penn headline a movie?

My Take: I find it interesting that co-writer Don Macpherson was a film critic before becoming a screenwriter.

What to Watch For: The film was nominated for a Best Foreign-Language Film at this year’s Academy Awards.

Word on the Street: The film has won over 20 awards and has been nominated more than 37 times at film festivals and Argentina’s Oscars.

My Take: I have not seen one bad review for this film.

The Salvation

“The Salvation” (2015)

In 1870’s West, a settler (Mads Mikkelsen) revenges the death of his wife and son. Now, a ruthless gang leader is out to direct his gang to find and kill the settler. That gang doesn’t know what kind of man the settler is because he won’t stop until everyone is dead. “The Salvation” Info

What to Watch For: Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the ruthless gang leader.

Word on the Street: Many critics feel that Mads Mikkelsen should have gotten an Oscar nomination for his role.

My Take: I am always up to see a Western.
