About Atlanta’s CW69
CBS Television Stations Group (Formerly Paramount Stations Group), a division of CBS Inc., officially entered the Atlanta market September 1, 1995, acquiring WVEU-TV from BCG Communications, which held the license since sign-on in 1981. On December 11, 1995 the call letters were changed to reflect the new ownership and direction for WUPA-TV. In 1996 WUPA was named the United Paramount Network affiliate of the year.
WUPA was a leading UPN affiliate until 2006 when the UPN network was dissolved. In September 2006, UPN and The WB networks folded and a new network The CW emerged with WUPA as its Atlanta affiliate.
Atlanta’s CW69 is committed to reflect the culture and diversity of Atlanta. In addition to bringing Atlanta viewers the very best of off network hits including “Two and a Half Men” and “How I Met Your Mother,” Atlanta’s CW69 also features the best in locally produced community-oriented programming like Focus Atlanta hosted by Keisha Lancelin and AutoScoop. The CW network features hits including “The Vampire Diaries,” “Arrow,” “Supernatural,” “The Originals,” “Reign” and “America’s Next Top Model.”
