What to Watch For:  Angelina Jolie is the Executive Producer of this animated film.

Word on the Street:  The film is based on Deborah Ellis’ bestselling novel.

My Take:  The filmmakers also made the Academy Award nominees Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea.

Thelma  (2017)

What to Watch For:  This film is Norway’s submission for the Foreign Language Film Award of the 90th Annual Academy Awards.

Word on the Street:  The film won the Norwegian Film Critics Award at the 2017 Norwegian International Film Festival.

My Take:  Writer/director Joachim Trier is known for his award-winning films Louder Than Bombs (2015) and Reprise (2006).

The Swindlers  (2017)

What to Watch For:  Yoo Ji-Tae, Hyun Bin, Bae Seong-woo, Ji-Tae Yu, and Park Sung-woong lead this all-star South Korean cast.

Word on the Street: The film was a big hit in South Korea.

My Take:  Ji-Tae Yu is in one of my favorite Korean films, Oldboy (2003).

The film opens Friday at Atlanta area theatres.

The Usual Suspects   (1995)  Following a truck hijack in New York, five conmen are arrested and meet for the first time in a police lineup. The five decide to work together on a major scam. Cast includes Kevin Spacey, Benicio Del Toro, Gabriel Byrne, Chazz Palminteri and Kevin Pollak.

Sunday

1:00 pm

Sense and Sensibility  (1995)  Mr. Dashwood dies, leaving his second wife and her two daughters poor due to the rules of inheritance. Cast includes Emma Thompson, Kate Winslet, Hugh Grant and Gemma Jones.
