Welcome to the October 11th issue of the Riverdale Recap! We’ve got you covered on all of the news happening at Riverdale High this season.
Riverdale is back and is instantly giving us the feels.
Welcome Back Riverdale Bulldogs!
The episode brings the drama from the beginning with Archie rushing his father to the hospital after being shot by a masked gunman at Pop’s. The bloodied clothes and rushing of nurses intensify the moment as we all pray for Fred Andrews to stay alive. Meanwhile, Mama Cooper is still up to her shenanigans as she berates Betty about Jughead over a glass of orange juice and a seemingly good-looking breakfast. But breakfast goes cold because she, Veronica and Jughead all received news from Archie explaining what happened to his father.
At the hospital, two important things happen: Fred Andrews starts having these weird vivid thoughts that always end with him being shot. A little bit creepy, if you ask me.
- Sheriff Keller questions Archie about any possible motives or hairy situations that could have led to his father being shot. It was here Archie revealed the description of the shooter: about 5’6″, wearing a homemade black hood (not a ski mask), and had green eyes. He informs Sheriff Keller that his father fired a group of Serpents. Could one be seeking revenge? Knowing that Archie is holding something back, Jughead volunteers to find out. He knows his buddy. He won’t let this slide.
Hit The Showers!
Picture this–Archie in the shower. Phew! Okay, back to the recap. It’s relevant, I promise. Archie cleans himself up, while Veronica invites herself into the shower
to…well, comfort him? We’ll go with that. After the steam settles, Veronica decides to open the bag that held Fred’s bloodied clothes. After realizing Fred’s wallet is missing, Archie gets agitated with Veronica and demands her to leave. She doesn’t. This is Veronica we’re talking about. No one dismisses the pearls. She knows Archie needs comfort, so she sticks by his side as he breaks down in tears.
What’s in the School Lunch?
Betty and Jughead take a ride to Pop’s to try looking for Fred’s wallet, but end up with nothing. Pops gets really dramatic, and calls the masked shooter the “Angel of Death.” Jughead gets a little freaked out and hungry. But, Betty also is a little freaked because she didn’t understand why Jughead had his dad’s motorcycle–and earlier, she received a friendly warning from Kevin about trusting Jughead. No worries though. They settle their feelings over a couple of medium well-done burgers. But Pops supplies us with a revelation here–the gunman didn’t take any money from the register. Was this all pre-meditated?! Or was he just not a skilled robber?!
PTA Meeting Gone Wrong
Veronica and her mother have a slight confrontation while praying. Veronica blatantly blames her mother for being involved with Fred’s shooting. Remember when Fred didn’t want to sell company shares to Hiram? Yup, that’s why. Hermione wants to slap Veronica for what she said, but alas, she is “not a violent person.” Amen to that.
Most Likely to Get Married
We have the biggest vivid thought from Fred happen: Archie’s outdoor Scottish wedding. Veronica looks ravishing. We see a chilling row of Blossoms–sans Mother Blossom. The gunman then takes his turn to walk down the aisle. He aims his gun for Archie, but Fred jumps in and blocks the shot. This gunshot wakes Fred up. ERMAHGERD.
Veronica gets a surprise when she gets home (dun dun dun!)–Hiram. Hiram and Hermione patiently await Veronica at their classy dinner table, adorned with candles and no Cristal. Veronica is a bit cold towards her father, but that’s to be expected. I’m anxious to see how this all plays out now.
No Bullying Zone
Jughead heads back to F.P.’s trailer and finds two Serpents who’ve beaten a guy to a pulp. They say he was happy that Fred was shot. Jerk. They promise their loyalty to F.P. and really want Jughead to let him know that.
Music Lessons Cancelled
And, remember Ms. Grundy? Yeah, she’s still giving “music lessons” at home. She’s still up to her old tricks, swooning her teenage pupils while playing Chopsticks. But, there’s a new guy here for a lesson once her pupil leaves. The masked gunman comes in and strangles her to death! Um. Yeah. That definitely happened. Who is this man? Did he not like how she taught the lesson?
All I know is that Season 2 isn’t here to play. You better get ready. See you in the next issue of Riverdale Recap!
