What to Watch For:  The film is based on Vince Flynn’s best-selling novel of the same name.

Word on the Street:  CBS films hopes this is the start of a franchise series.

My Take:  I love that Michael Keaton’s career has taken off again.

The film opens nationwide on Friday.

Mother!  (2017)  R

A couple’s (Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem) love is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their lives forever. Mother! Website

What to Watch For:  The movie was shot on 16mm film.

Word on the Street:  The film’s cast includes two Oscar winners: Javier Bardem and Jennifer Lawrence; and three Oscar nominees: Ed Harris, Kristen Wiig, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

My Take:  Although the trailer is very confusing, this is one of the most talked about films of the fall season.

The film opens nationwide on Friday.

Cambodian author and human rights activist Loung Ung recounts her life under the rule of the Khmer Rouge. First They Killed My Father Website

What to Watch For:  it’s estimated that 25% of the Cambodian population died during the rule of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge.

Word on the Street:  The film is directed by Angelina Jolie and many film critics feel this could be an Oscar nominee.

My Take:  Jolie also wrote the screenplay.

Two Trains Runnin’  (2017)

What to Watch For:  Musicians Common, Gary Clark Jr., Buddy Guy and Lucinda Williams appear in the film.

Word on the Street:  The film is directed by Oscar nominated Samuel D. Pollard.

My Take:  Lucinda Williams is one of my favorite singers.

The film opens Friday exclusively at Landmark Midtown Art Cinema
