What to Watch For:  The film is based on the comic book Old Man Logan by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven.

Word on the Street:  This could be the last time that Hugh Jackman plays the part of Wolverine.

My Take:  I can’t wait to see this film!

Before I Fall  (2017)

What to Watch For:  The film is based on the bestseller of the same name by Lauren Oliver.

Word on the Street:  Screenwriter Maria Maggenti wrote Monte Carlo  (2011) and is writing the upcoming the remake of Dirty Dancing.

My Take:  I loved Zoey Deutch in last year’s Everybody Wants Some!!.

The film opens nationwide on Friday.

The Shack  (2017)

After his young daughter is murdered on a camping trip, Mack’s (Sam Worthington) life is spiraling out of control.  One day he receives a letter inviting him to a shack where the crime occurred. Despite doubts, he decides to go and the experience he has there changes his life. “The Shack” Website

What to Watch For:  The film is based on the novel of the same name by William P. Young.

Word on the Street:  Octavia Spencer, hot off her Oscar-nominated performance in Hidden Figures, stars as Papa in the film.

My Take:  The soundtrack of the film looks to be a winner with stars such as Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Skillet and Lady Antebellum.

The film opens nationwide on Friday.

Table 19  (2017)

Ex-maid of honor Eloise (Anna Kendrick), after being dumped by the best man.  She decides to attend the wedding anyway and is assigned to the losers table, table 19. “Table 19” Website

What to Watch For:  Director Jeffrey Blitz was nominated for an Oscar in 2003 for his documentary Spellbound.

Word on the Street:  Cast includes Craig Robinson, June Squibb, Lisa Kudrow, and Stephen Merchant.

My Take:  The film was written by two of my favorite filmmakers Jay and Mark Duplass.

The film opens nationwide on Friday.

Kedi  (2017)

Istanbul is famous for its cats, most of which live on the streets.  The film focuses on seven cats and how people interact with them. “Kedi” Website

What to Watch For:  The film is currently at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Word on the Street:  The film won Best Family Film at the 2016 Sidewalk Film Festival.

My Take:  I have been hearing great things about this film from other film critics that have seen it.

The film opens exclusively in Atlanta on Friday at Landmark Midtown Art Cinema

500 Days of Summer  (2009)  Tom (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) meets and falls in love with Summer (Zooey Deschanel). The problem is that Summer doesn’t believe that true love exists.
