Campus MovieFest (CMF), the world’s largest student film festival, has brought for the first time to Atlanta, “Terminus” – a four-day event devoted to connecting young creatives and industry professionals for the best of film, TV and gaming. Taking place June 16 through 19, 2016, at the Marriott Marquis in Downtown Atlanta, this four-day event will feature hands-on workshops, educational panels, game design expos, exclusive film screenings, awards, as well as chances to meet and network with celebrities, industry leaders, and much more. “Terminus” creates the ultimate platform for emerging talents and industry professionals alike to take their art and careers to the next level.
Campus MovieFest is the world’s largest student film festival. “Terminus” is screening over 200 top CMF short films, and will announce the winners of this year’s Golden Tripod Awards. “Terminus” is the new and improved CMF Hollywood, celebrating the best and brightest from CMF, only this year we’re opening our doors to filmmakers, gamers, and creators of all stripes. Screenings will be at Landmark Midtown Art Cinemas (more information here) on Thursday, June 16 starting at 10 am and on Saturday, June 18 – Sunday, June 19th at the SCADShow theatre (SCADShow info here). Besides the numerous short films screening at “Terminus,” there are also some award winning films such as “Operator” (check out Mike’s SXSW movie review here), “Morris from America” (check out Mike’s ATLFF movie review here) and the talk of the film festival circuit, “The Arbalest.” Filmmaking workshops and panels will be all four days at the Marriott Marquis where you can learn about the latest filmmaking techniques from industry experts.
The “Terminus” gaming track is packed full of workshops, panels with industry experts, chances to check out the latest technology, and conversations about the biggest issues and most exciting news in the industry. Learn new techniques; find out how to build a career in the gaming world, test out your skills in the no-holds-barred, fight-to-the-death Smash Bros tournament, or chill and zone out in our free play room. Whether you’re a pro developer, an avid player, or a passionate fan, “Terminus” has everything you could want and more.
The weekend’s capstone event celebrates the best of the best in film, TV and gaming. “Terminus” will honor the winners of the “Terminus” festival competitions for feature films, short films, and video game design, and hand out the awards from CM, including Best Picture, Comedy, Drama, the CMF Golden Tripod Awards and the Elfenworks social justice award. The ceremony is hosted by comedian Judah Friedlander (“30 Rock”) and will be jam-packed with other celebrities to help honor the next generation of great storytellers, and anyone who entered “Terminus” or participated in CMF has a chance to win.
