“We are extremely excited and grateful to join forces with CW69 to televise the inaugural Kennesaw State home football game,” KSU Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams said. “The airing of this historic game on CW69 is a tremendous opportunity to showcase Kennesaw State University and Owl Athletics to the greater Atlanta community.”
WUPA Station Manager Tim Bennett commented “CW69 is proud to telecast the first home football game for the Kennesaw State Owls. In a market that is thirsty for live local sports, we feel this once in a lifetime event will be a big draw for local viewers and college football fans in the Atlanta area”.
Over the course of the last two years, CW69 has committed itself to more sports programming by partnering with the Atlanta Falcons to televise preseason games, airing two hours of weekly team programming and producing a regular slate of Falcons specials each year.
CW69 is also a network affiliate for Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) football. An ACC game will precede the Kennesaw State-Edward Waters game.

Kennesaw State, which plays at the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level and is a member of the Big South Conference, opens its debut season on Sept. 3 when it plays East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tenn.
WUPA-TV (CW69), which is owned by CBS, is an over-the-air broadcast station available through all cable providers in addition to Direct TV and other satellite customers. It airs on 810 on Comcast, 1069 on U-Verse, 709 on Charter, 69 on DirecTV and 6376 on DISH TV.
