What to Watch For:  Cruise trained with diving specialist Kirk Krack in order to shoot a six-minute scene underwater that was filmed in one long take.

Word on the Street:  Paramount has already announced that a 6th “Mission Impossible” film is in the works.

My Take:  The film is getting great reviews from critics.

Vacation

What to Watch For:  Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold.

Word on the Street:  I hear that the “Wagon Queen Family Truckster” just might make an appearance in the film.

My Take:  I will be interested to see if any Atlanta landmarks show up in the film since it was shot here.

irrational Man

A philosophy professor (Joaquin Phoenix) finds a new meaning to life when he gets involved with a student (Emma Stone). “Irrational Man” Website

What to Watch For:  This is the second film Stone has made with Woody Allen.

Word on the Street:   This is the first time that Joaquin Phoenix has worked with Woody Allen.

My Take:  I always enjoy Emma Stone’s performances.

A Lego Brickumentary

What to Watch For:  In the early 2000’s the company almost went out of business.

Word on the Street:   The film is narrated by LEGO fan, Jason Bateman.

My Take:  I hear that this is a blast to watch.

Jimmy''s Hall

What to Watch For:  The film was selected to compete for the Palme d”Or at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

Word on the Street:  Director Ken Loach is known for his socialist realism in his films.

My Take:  I liked Loach’s last film “The Angels’ Share (2012).

Boulevard

What to Watch For:  This is Robin Williams last starring role.

Word on the Street:  The film has been traveling on the film festival circuit.

My Take:  It is going to be sad to watch this film due to the late Mr. Williams.

 

If you can’t make it to the theatre this weekend, then stay at home and watch movies on Atlanta’s CW.

Saturday

“Live Free or Die Hard”  (2007)  John McClane (Bruce Willis) and a young hacker (Justin Long) team up to try and bring down a cyber-terrorist (Timothy Olyphant).

 

Sunday

“Finding Rin Tin Tin” (2007)  The true story of the German Shepherd who was found by An American pilot (Tyler Jensen) in France during World War I and was brought back to the states to become one of the most famous animal stars in Hollywood.
