Monday “Eureka” star Colin Ferguson tweeted a couple of times announcing that he is joining the cast of “The Vampire Diaries:”
Classic! Everyone who knows the show is telling me I’m going to die. I think I packed too much…
Hmmm…. Seem to have ‘tripped’ my way into a new role… Mystic Falls, hunh? This is gonna be fun :
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the DragonCon favorite and “Eureka” star Ferguson has joined the cast. Ferguson will be in the season premiere playing Tripp, described as the head of a community militia, who plays a father figure to his young trainees who will do anything to protect their town. Executive producer Julie Plec has hinted that Ferguson will be a thorn in the side of Sheriff Forbes (Marguerite MacIntyre).
In a separate article, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Plec has announced that Matt Davis, who plays Alaric Saltzman will return to the core group and Michael Malarkey, who plays Enzo, will be a permanent (as much as anyone can be permanent on TVD) series regular.
“The Vampire Diaries” premieres on Thursday Oct. 2 on CW69.
