Atlanta’s own The Plaza Theatre has been picked by Men’s Journal as one of the “Top 20 Movie Theatres in the World.” A little bit of history on The Plaza. It was built in 1939 and is Atlanta’s longest continuously-operating independent movie theatre. The Plaza Theatre is the home of the Atlanta Film Festival, along with hosting cult classics like the long running midnight screening of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” every Friday night and some of the best in new Independent films. The Plaza was recently refurbished with a new sound system, digital projection bringing it into the modern age, plush seating and a unique selection at the snack bar. If you haven’t been to The Plaza Theatre lately, you should really check them out, especially if you like Indie films like I do.
