Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead on Sunday in New York at age 46. The actor still had a few other projects he had been currently working, specifically “The Hunger Games” installments.
Hoffman starred as Plutarch Heavensbee in Liongate’s “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and was set to appear again in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2”. Both films have currently been filming in Atlanta.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor finished filming “Part 1” and had only a few days left to shoot “Part 2”. Sources state that Hoffman’s death will not affect the release dates in November 2014 and 2015.
“Mockingjay” has continued filming in Atlanta this week.
Hoffman died of suspected drug overdose Sunday morning in his New York apartment. CNN reported that he was found with a needle in his arm and heroin in the apartment. For more information and updates visit CBS Atlanta.
