Hello, #Elena3.0

First, there was human Elena. Then, there was baby vampire Elena. And as of last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, we have no-humanity-cut-off-all-emotion-baby-vamp-Elena. Which is a mouthful. So I give you #Elena3.0.

TVD returns on March 14 with the episode “Bring It On”, and the following week with episode “Because the Night”. The latter is taking us to NYC, and will feature flashbacks with Damon (and Lexi) in the 1970s.  TV Fanatic has a first look at the new Elena, and she’s undergone an exterior makeover in addition to her inner one. Elena is sporting bangs and bright red streaks in her hair to partner her new confident, non-emotional, self.

I, for one, am really excited about Elena 3.0, because Elena 1.0 and 2.0 were getting a little too weepy for my liking. (Though Nina did a fantastic job in last week’s high-emotion episode with Jeremy’s passing!) I’m a huge TVD/Elena fan, but things were getting a little — dare I say — boring…? Maybe that’s just me, but I know one thing is for sure. It’s about time the show that became famous for being unexpected, returned to being just that.
