Guilty. I haven’t seen Skyfall, yet. From what I hear, it’s a must-see! So I’ll add that to my list of movies that I need to make time for this holiday season.
But in light of the latest Bond installment, recent style choices have been channeling inspiration from 007. Surely, you must have noticed how the women in our favorite Bond movies are always dangerously gorgeous, elegant, and sophisticated — similar and fitting to Bond’s iconic look. What are the key components that make an outfit Skyfall chic? So glad you asked!
It all comes down to what’s alluring, sleek, and sharply tailored. Look for jumpsuits, pant suits, blazers … silk button-up shirts with embellished collars, ties, or cuffs. Black bows, red lipstick, metal jewelry. Anything with a masculine-inspiration, while staying exquisitely feminine. It’s a simple sophistication you can rock at work. And with all these holiday parties coming up, instead think what might compliment that black tuxedo! Black and white, bold colors of red and blue … strong lines, high collars … sharp angles, cut outs, and V-shaped necklines make for a truly killer combination.
Here’s how some of our CW stars have channeled their inner Bond on the red carpet — The Vampire Diaries‘ Kat Graham, in a sleek, black cut-out gown, The Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev in a bold red, sharp-angled strapless gown, and again in a black, low-back gown (alongside a future James Bond, maybe? I’ll call it now…) and Beauty and the Beast‘s Kristin Kreuk in an elegant white, V-necklined, clingy cocktail dress.
Grab that martini (however you like it) and get to that party dressed to kill.😉
