Trend Watch: Ombré Hair
Ladies, here is a hair trend that is so effortless, it won’t have you going to the salon every 6-8 weeks for touch-ups! And with so many of us running around like mad women everyday, keeping up with our hair color is just not something we want to worry about in our busy schedules, is it? Not to mention, it can be expensive! Especially if you have a lot of hair like me. My visits to the salon require at least a good chunk of my afternoon, and a good chunk of my wallet. Let me introduce you to the French-termed hair trend that has been spotted on so many A-list celebs, and our own CW trend-setters, like Shenae Grimes and Rachel Bilson. It’s called Ombré, and it’s gorgeous.
The look is easy, and it has an easy-going feel to it, too. It features darker, more natural-colored hues at the roots, and then gets gradually lighter at the ends. It basically looks like out-grown color. You know when you didn’t have the time or money to schedule that salon appointment and your dark roots started creeping their way back in, ever so noticeably? Yeah, that’s actually ‘in’ now. And that definitely works in my favor; my roots have been growing in for months now, and I was asked just the other day if I did that on purpose! I can work with that. What’s more is it also looks great on all skin complexions.
We’ve typically seen it fading from dark brown to blonde, but the look can be achieved with any variety of shades and colors. Dark brown fading to deep reds and purples is beautiful, too. Just think about what colors look best on you, and just make sure the bottom color doesn’t go brassy. Check out some photos of CW stars Shenae Grimes and Rachel Bilson and their ombré hair color below! And whether you’re wanting to try it out next time you’re at the salon (so that you don’t have to keep going back so often), or you want to go ahead and work your already-starting-to-grow-out color, bring a little bit of a natural, sun-kissed glow to your hair this fall/winter. You’ll love it!
