Miss Nina Dobrev was out and about in Atlanta this past Saturday, September 15th. She was at an autograph signing at Barnes and Noble, signing copies of her October cover of Seventeen Magazine … and later, was at a movie screening to promote her new movie, “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, which will hit theaters on the 21st.
Before the screening, Nina was available to the press for some short interviews, and I witnessed it all first-hand! I got to ask Nina some questions about her new movie, as well as a little bit about what she’s most excited about for this upcoming season of TVD.
Nina stood in front of the Perks’ movie posters and posed for pictures. It was their version of a “red carpet”. Each reporter was allowed their turn to ask questions; although I’ve done some interviews before, I would be lying to you if I didn’t tell you that I was nervous out of my mind. But when Nina Dobrev is looking right at you, smiling and waiting for you to speak, thank God for that little voice in your head that says, “Get it together, girl … go!”
Nina is just as beautiful in person as she is on screen. And she’s really very sweet, too!
She’s actually pretty tall, and even my extra inches of heel couldn’t compete with her. She wore a fun, dark-floral, pantsuit-romper. Side note: I want one. It was sleeveless and open-back — dark floral and pant = perfect for fall, while still cool enough for our ever-lingering Atlanta heat. She wore her hair in long loose curls, pulled back off her face with tiny braids.
She answered all questions with a lot of poise, and her answers were meaningful. It was obvious that her fans mean a great deal to her, and she was very gracious in taking a time-out from TVD shooting to be there and talk to us all.
She even tweeted after the event saying, “I had so much fun meeting/and hanging out with you guys on Saturday at the signing ! Thanks for spending part of your weekend with me ;)”.
When the press interviews were over, we then went into the theater. We got more footage of the fans, anticipating the movie as well as for Nina to arrive one more time. Nina entered the theater to all of her fans chanting her name, and addressed everyone at the front; smiling and telling everybody “long time, no see!” and that she hoped they enjoy the movie.
CW69 camera-man Chris got everything on camera, and I’m happy to tell you that we will be putting together the interview and posting it for you soon!
Be sure to check out Nina in “The Perks of Being a Wallflower,” in theaters September 21st — and of course, as TVD’s new baby vamp, premiering this October!
