The season 8 promo of “Supernatural” begins with a Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) reunion. Yes, a reunion, not a death (so unlike “Supernatural,” right?). After Dean returns from purgatory, he surprises Sam in a cabin — who nearly fights back before realizing it’s his brother. How Dean escaped the ghostly realm is still unknown, but I think this guy has a little something to do with it. Not shown in the promo was Sam’s new love interest, Amelia (Liane Balaban). According to our CW 69 poll about Supernatural love interests, over fifty percent of voters decidedly hate romances on the show. That’s okay. The bromance supersedes all else.
Also in the promo: brief shots of Castiel (Misha Collins). Collins tweeted about his moments in the video.
24 seconds into this video there's a remarkably alluring shot of an incredibly handsome guy taking a poop in the woods: youtube.com/watch?v=kEzytq…—

The end uncovers the arc of season 8. With all the demons roaming around Earth, creating mega-havoc, what if there was a way to stop them forever? Apparently Hell has a gate. And it can be shut. “Closing the gates of Hell forever? Yeah that could be important,” Dean says with much added Dean-sarcasm. The Winchesters must close the gates before the demons stop them. Like it? Or are you wishing for another big bad?
Supernatural premieres Wednesday, October 11 at 9pm.
