‘Supernatural’: Plot Twist And New Recurring Role

Battlestar Galactica fans, rejoice! Ty Olsson, a Galactica star, landed a recurring role on the all new season of Supernatural. Since Dean awaits his fate in Purgatory, he probably needs a little help escaping. Olsson will play Benny, a vamp who tries to do just that.

However, the biggest shocker comes not from a casting alert but a lead from the consulting producer, Ben Edlund, about the new direction of the series.

From Zap2it:

Edlund notes that Benny is not the season’s “big bad,” despite differing reports online. In fact, fans will be surprised to learn that there is no big bad for the season — there’s a goal and several villains (some familiar, some not) who are hoping to reach that goal before the Winchesters do.

No big bad? We’ve seen yellow-eyes, Lilith, and countless other terrorizing monsters that all served as the focus for the series. Season 8 plans to hike a different trail. Do you like the twist? After so many seasons, I am more than excited for a little changeup. What could this “goal” possibly be? Let the speculation begin!
