Next weekend, from June 1-3rd I will be in Austin, Texas to attend the inaugural ATX Television Festival. The ATX Festival is a celebration of things television, for both fans of TV and the Industry Professionals that bring the programs to the medium that we all love.

The weekend will be full of events – where attendees can interact with actors, directors, creators and other people that are involved with all aspects of bringing out favorite series to air. There will be screenings, of not only past shows, but also sneak peeks of new shows, along with panel discussions consisting of actors, writers, directors and show creators.

The festival will not only highlight current series, but also look back on classic shows and cult favorites, such as CW’s own Life UneXpected. Set to appear are such actors as Jason Ritter and Dax Shepard from Parenthood (NBC), Scott Porter, Alicia Witt and Matt Lauria from Friday Night Lights (NBC), along with Britt Roberston and Shiri Appleby from Life UneXpected (CW). Plus creators, writers and showrunners such as Jane Espenson (Consulting Producer for Once Upon a Time (ABC)), Jeff Davis (Creator of Teen Wolf (MTV)), Julie Plec (Co-Creator of The Vampire Diaries (CW)), and Bill Lawrence (Creator of Scrubs (NBC) and Cougar Town (ABC)).

Next week I will be interviewing the founders, Caitlin McFarland and Emily Gipson, of the ATX Television Festival, where they will give us insight on why they created the festival and what they hope to accomplish with it. Look out for that interview next week!
