Cinco De Mayo Planning
Cinco de Mayo is on Saturday and this is the one day where Americans can come together and celebrate Mexico for a good cause: drinking tequila. Well, you don’t have to only drink tequila, but definitely no Irish Car Bombs or Guinness on this holiday. Yes, it is a holiday. Fortunately for all us margarita lovers, it falls on a Saturday this year. That means not having to worry about hiding your hungover (or possibly still drunk) self the following morning at work. Let the party begin!
So I am researching what exactly I want to do in Atlanta to celebrate this wonderful day. First stop: check the weather. It looks like it will be warm but there is a 50% chance of thunderstorms. Uh-oh. That just means I need to be having such a good time that I won’t care if it is raining! And make sure my hair and makeup is water-proof!
Lucky for all of us out there in the festive mood, there seems to be a lot of events going on. Tin Lizzy’s is having celebrations from noon till the wee hours of the morning at all of their locations. There will be music, fun, and muchos Dos Equis available! It looks like there is also an Atlanta “Tequila” Pub Crawl. It doesn’t start until 7pm so that sounds like a great round two for the day! I’ve been on pub crawls before and they are a lot of fun. This one begins at the Deadwood Saloon in Midtown. There are a lot of other events besides these two going on throughout different areas of Atlanta on Saturday. As long as I am outside and have a refreshing frozen margarita in my hand, I know I’ll be happy.
Whatever you do, make sure you don’t drink and drive! But as the Dos Equis Man always says, “Stay thirsty my friends!”
