What to Watch For: The question isn’t if The Avengers will be the number one box office picture – It’s how big will the opening weekend box office be? That’s the reason that no other major motion pictures are opening this week.
Word on the Street: The Avengers is getting a lot of buzz about how the film could be up for Best Picture next year at the Oscars.
My Take: This film is going to be huge. and fans of the Marvel superhero films will not be to be disappointed.
If you can’t make it to the theatre this weekend, then stay home and watch movies on CW69:
The Grudge 2 (2006) In this sequel to 2004’s The Grudge, Aubrey (Amber Tamblyn) is sent to Tokyo to find out what has happened to her sister (Sarah Michelle Gellar). While there, she encounters the same ghost attacked her sister and she is cursed, just as her sister was. It’s a curse that she will try to escape from, but can she?
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) Jessica Biel, Jonathan Tucker and Eric Balfour star in this remake of the 1974 classic horror film. A group of friends make the mistake of knocking on the wrong door, a door that will lead to a family of inbred psychopaths who are out to kill them.
Unfaithful (2002) Diane Lane stars as Connie, a woman who seems to have everything – a handsome husband (Richard Gere), a nice home and a loving son. A chance encounter, though, on the street with a stranger (Olivier Martinez) turns into an affair – an affair that could have dangerous results.
