It seems like we have skipped over the fun easiness of spring and have been pushed into the hot and sweaty summer. It’s time to show off more skin and shed that winter comfort food blubber. So after you hit the elliptical in the morning, go out shopping. These are some of my favorite things that are trending this spring:
Maxi Dresses and Skirts
Though these started becoming popular last year, I cannot get over how cute and comfortable maxi dresses and skirts can be. They instantly make everyone look taller and slimmer. You do not have to wear uncomfortable heels when you wear them either! Just throw on some gladiator sandals and you are good to go. There are so many fun prints and embellishments out there. If you like maxi dresses, but want to try something different, go for a long skirt. Get one that sits high on your waist and pair it with a cute printed tank top. It will add some spice to your spring wardrobe rather than wearing a lot of shorts and pants. Also, if you haven’t shaved your legs in a couple of days…no one will know. Genius! Just makes sure the material isn’t so clingy that you can see that snack you had earlier in your belly. Just stand up straight and suck that stomach in!
Sky-High Wedge Heels
No matter what magazine you look in, you are guaranteed to see a bunch of fun and funky colored heels. The great thing is, a lot of them are wedges! This makes your shoes not only more comfortable to wear, but easier to walk in! Look for some fun wedges that have bright color block patterns. Though they may seem less practical, they can make any boring outfit hip and hot. Pair them with a white or black dress and no one will be able to take their eyes off you. You can even find cute and reasonable priced pairs. Gotta love when you can get that look for less!
Crochet Lace Tops
Last season, lace was everywhere. A lot of shirts, tank tops, and blouses somehow incorporated the sexy look of lace. This season, look for crochet lace tops. This updates the trend and brings a more elegant vibe. The patterns are bigger and softer. Look for a cute white one to pair with a tank top. If you want to be risky, you can even skip the tank top and just wear a bandeau underneath. Just make sure you do a bunch of crunches and sit-ups before you head out into public. And you should probably only wear it when going out to the club. If Grandma is coming to Easter, make sure to wear the tank top underneath, rated PG version. Pair the shirt with some colorful wedge heels and you’ll really be styling!
Hi ho, hi ho, off to shop I go…
